10-11th March 2012 - 10.00am - 4.00pm. To coincide with National Science Week, Jimmy’s Farm near Ipswich, Suffolk, is holding a fabulous weekend of experiments, discovery and wonder and it will be free for children. The aim is to demonstrate Natural Science to all ages and how it affects our lives, food and the world we live in. Interactive workshops and demonstrations will be happening throughout the day, and there will be Scientists onsite to answer any questions.
Headlining will be Marty Jopson, presenter and scientist from The One Show, who will be giving an explosive performance. He will be joined by Martin the Bug Man, who will give you the opportunity to get up close and personal with Tarantulas, Praying Mantis and other creepy crawlies. TV Presenter Jimmy Doherty commented; “ This is our third year holding the Science Festival and for me, it’s one of the most exciting times of the year, when children and adults can learn about the wonderful world of science. I really want to inspire the younger generation, which is why there is no entrance fee for children”. The nature trail will also be open where you can visit the rare breed animals and feed the orphan lambs, walk in the woods and build your very own den. Gates open at 10am until 4pm on both days. Kids go free during the weekend 10-11th March and adult tickets are £5 bought online in advance or £6 on the day.
