There will be a great variety of things to do and see during the 3-day Aldeburgh Carnival and Regatta this weekend, ending with the much loved lantern procession and firework display on Monday evening.
The Carnvial kicks off on Saturday with a variety of stalls on Crag Path and the return of a traditional, steam-driven Galloper ride. There will be sideshows, a tombola and silent auction south of Moot Hall and a children's Lollipop Hunt starting at 2.30pm, just north of the Lifeboat Station.
Sunday morning kicks off with a mini marathon, taking runners to Thorpeness and back, along the sea front. From noon, children can join-in with the ever popular Punch and Judy show followed by Land Sports and an Egg Boat Race. On Monday, a full day of carnival events start at 8.30am (weather permitting), with ocean swimming races, children's land sports and a lifeboat launch. The Band of The Prince of Wales's Division will be performing outside the Moot Hall just after lunch, prior to the carnival procession setting off at 3pm. The evening entertainment starts at 6.45pm with a samba dancing display, followed by the Military Band who will lead the magical procession of lanterns to the beach. The day is rounded off with a fantastic firework display.
