The Suffolk Herring Festival taking place 26th -27th October 2013 in Middleton, is a two-day celebration of the humble herring. The event falls within the October half term week and coincides with the herring fisheries autumn peak.

Herring fishing has been a vibrant part of the Suffolk Coast's heritage for centuries. The fishy festival programme will celebrate this historic industry  with cooking (and eating!) demonstrations, sustainability exhibitions, fishy yarns, sea shanties and games.

Delicious barbecued herring baps, fresh herrings, kipper brunches and bloater baguettes will be available for purchase during the festival weekend.

The Suffolk Herring Festival is a free event and takes place at the Middleton Farm Shop, Reckford Farm (IP17 3NS) which is near to the picture-perfect village of Westleton, just off the A12.
