The 25th Aldeburgh Poetry Festival will take place between 8th and 10th November 2013, and is an annual celebration featuring both national and international contemporary poetry.

The majority of the festival programme centres around different venues within the iconic Snape Maltings complex, but each day normally starts and ends with events happening in Aldeburgh itself.  To ensure easy access to and from venues, a free shuttle bus will be running between Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings throughout the weekend.

The festival weekend kicks off on Friday 8th November, with a celebration of readings by the gifted winners of the Suffolk Young Poets Competition. This will be followed by readings by the wonderful Grace Nichols with her Caribbean infused “Cosmic Disco” poetry collection for young people.

Contributors throughout the festival also include Michael Laskey, Richie McCaffery, CJ Allen, Alison Brackenbury and Robert Wrigley.

There will also be a Poetry Masterclass by Ireland’s Conor O’Callaghan and a Soapbox session in the format of open-mic performances by several local wordsmiths including Rowan James and Leanne Moden.

For visitor’s wishing to stay in Suffolk during the festival, last minute holiday accommodation is still available in Snape and in Aldeburgh.
