Bonfire Nights and Fireworks in Suffolk

After an eventful and stormy week with trees down and loss of electricity in several villages, the team at Suffolk Secrets send our best regards to all those affected. We wish you all a speedy return to the norm!

There were many Guy Fawkes events planned for the coming weekend, but it’s probably best to check with local organisers before turning up to events!  Events planned pre-storm / Firemen strike action:-

FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2013

Melford Hall’s Big Night, Long MelfordGates open at 5.30pm.  Programme includes St Nicholas Care Sponsored Firewalk, refreshments, ignition of a giant bonfire decorated with Guys made by local school children, Pains Pyro Music and fireworks to the theme of "Best of British". Tickets available in advance or on the gate. Gate price: adults £7.00 and children £5.00.

SATURDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2013

Heveningham Hall Fireworks near Halesworth/SouthwoldGates open at 5:30pm for this VERY popular event, boasting live music, fun fair, hog roast, a bar, bonfire and lots of spectacular fireworks. Tickets per car are £12 in advance or £15 on the gate (up to 7 people). Tickets for pedestrians are £5 for adults and £3 for children. No sparklers please.

Bury St Edmunds Fireworks, Abbey GardensGates open at 6pm with the display starting at 7.30pm. Tickets available on the gate or in advance from The Apex Box Office and Bury Free Press Offices.

Museum of East Anglian Life, StowmarketGates open at 5.30pm. A roaring bonfire, fantastic fireworks, steam engines and amusements. Osier Cafe will be providing refreshments and food. Tickets available in advance or on the gate. Gate prices: adults £5 and children £4.

‘Spooktacular!’ Fireworks’, Christchurch Park, IpswichThis is the 42nd Fireworks in the Park event and this year’s amazing event has been designed by Shell Shock, a company renowned around the world for their exciting displays. Advance tickets cost £5 for children and £3 for adults.

Kelsale-cum-Carlton Village BonfireThe village party begins at 5.45pm with the children’s lantern procession from the village hall, this year led for the first time by the ‘Never Ready Samba Band.’ Lanterns will be on sale from the Village Hall committee rooms beforehand. Free event but donations are welcome. No Chinese lanterns, sparklers or fireworks please. For more information please call Pam Garratt on 01728 603995.

TUESDAY 5TH NOVEMBER 2013

Walberswick FireworksBonfire and fireworks in the village of Walberswick near Southwold. The Anchor will be serving delicious suppers after the fireworks.
