During the Easter holidays, Ickworth is offering some eggs-cellent activities for the whole family to enjoy:
95th RiflesSaturday 12 April and Sunday 13 April 2014, 10:30 am - 4pmJoin in the fun as the 95th Rifles prepared for their “Battle of Waterloo” 200th anniversary. The 95th Rifles will take over the grounds of Ickworth with battle and training re-enactments and activities to join in with including drill workshops.
Archery For All18-21 April 2014, 11am - 4pmAll of the family can have a go at testing their skills on this traditional sport! With skilled instructors on hand to assist, you’ll be hitting the bull’s eye in no time. This event is perfect for all of the family, with bows to use to suit all sizes and ages available.
Rotunda Easter Preparations - Living HistoryFriday, 18 April 2014, 11am - 4pmIt’s a hive of activity in the basement, as the Ickworth cooks prepare for a sumptuous Easter banquet. Witness the heat in the kitchen as traditional Easter fare such as Simnel Cake is made.
Ickworth House was built between 1432 and 1956 and is surrounded by acres of beautiful parkland which offer many peaceful walking trails. The grounds include a walled garden and a popular adventure playground for children. The basement of the striking Rotunda at Ickworth House has been restored to its 1910 appearance, and offers a real ‘Upstairs Downstairs’ insight into what it was like to work and live in this extraordinary home.
