Alde Valley Spring Festival 2014

19th April – 18th May 2014

Now in its 6th year, The Alde Valley Spring Festival is a wonderful event that celebrates food, farming, and the arts in East Suffolk. It takes place 19th April-18th May 2014 on a small livestock farm in the village of Great Glemham, which is situated within the beautiful Alde Valley, close to Snape Maltings.

The programme features a series of mouth-watering farm suppers which have been devised by Chef Peter Harrison. Each supper showcases delicious and seasonal produce from four farms in the East Suffolk area including Peak Hill Farm in Theberton, White House Farm in Great Glemham, High House Fruit Farm in Sudbourne and Rendham Hall Dairy in Rendham. The wonderful setting for these suppers will be in the farmhouse served at three beautiful, Suffolk oak tables made by Raymond Hopkins.

This year, works from over 30 artists, will be available for sale and showcased at the Festival Exhibition. Other beautiful artisan wares will also be available in the pop-up Festival Shop including baskets by Peter Dibble, hand-cut Great Glemham oak chopping boards; handmade suede and leather bound books by Judith Wiesner and benches/stools by Raymond Hopkins.

There will also be a series of artists’ talks by Maggi Hambling, Lily Hunter Green and Laurence Edwards.

Don’t miss Henrietta’s Pop-Up Pâtisserie which will be set up in the farmhouse during weekends over the festival period. In addition to coffee, tea and cordial, an irresistible choice of pastries and cakes will be available. Walk off any “cake-guilt” on one of the beautiful nature trails encircling the farm!

• White House Farm is a working sheep farm so the festival organisers kindly request that that guests and visitors do not bring pets/dogs.
