It’s been a busy few weeks here at Suffolk Secrets and particularly so for our Recruitment Team who have been up and down the county recruiting a range of new properties for our portfolio.

Our Recruitment Team consists of Angie Brown, our Property Manager, and Oliver Mummery, our Property Recruiter, both of whom have grown up in Suffolk and are particularly passionate about this beautiful part of the country.

Angie is based in our Southwold Office and Oliver is based at the Aldeburgh Office. Each recruiter looks after specific areas in Suffolk – Angie looks after the Southwold and Coast and Heaths Areas, and Oliver looks after the Aldeburgh and Woodbridge Areas and The Suffolk Countryside.

They have both written a piece about themselves and why they love the place in which they work.

Angie Brown, Property Manager

I feel lucky to be part of this county and able to enjoy the coast and countryside. In addition to living here I also have the benefit of sharing this with many people through working for Suffolk Secrets where more and more customers are coming to stay in our holiday cottages. As Property Manager for Suffolk Secrets, part of my role is recruiting properties for our portfolio and this includes the Coast and Heaths area which is a personal favourite of mine. This area includes the Nature Reserve at Minsmere and here as well as the surrounding villages. I have an adorable springer spaniel and much of my leisure time is spent walking along the numerous footpaths in the area and taking in the scenery. My favourite walks are in and around Minsmere, including Eastbridge where there is a popular local pub which at times seem to have more dogs than people! The wildlife is amazing and sometimes there are herds of deer to be seen. From Eastbridge many of the footpaths lead you to Westleton and Middleton which are both delightful villages in which we recruit many holiday cottages. These areas are great if you like walking and are enjoyable all year round; there is always something to see. You can walk for miles with barely a road to be seen which gives this area a complete get away from it all feeling.

Oliver Mummery, Property Recruiter

Having worked as a Property Recruiter for nearly two and half years I have seen some fantastic holiday homes in all shapes and sizes. I grew up in Woodbridge therefore I am slightly biased towards this charming market town which I feel is fast becoming one of the most popular holiday destinations in Suffolk. The town is full of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants to explore as well as the beautiful walks along the River Deben and the landmark Tidemill. Further up the coast is the bustling seaside town of Aldeburgh which seems to be ever increasing in its popularity. Families have been coming to Aldeburgh for years for a classic British seaside holiday with its famous fish and chips, wealth of shops and many eateries to choose from. It is no surprise that Aldeburgh is one of our busiest destinations throughout Suffolk. Heading west of the county is the medieval village of Lavenham, known for its crooked architecture and the inspiration for some of the locations in the Harry Potter series. Also worth a visit is the tourist hot spot of Long Melford. If you like antiques then this is the place for you! This area has really taken off in the last couple of years and we have recruited some beautiful properties in this location.

Angie and Oliver are always on hand if you are looking to holiday let your second home. Alternatively if you are interested in buying a property in Suffolk, we work closely with some of the leading estate agencies in the county and can happily give advice on purchasing a property with a view to holiday letting. We also have a list of properties that we know are for sale and we will be very happy to help smooth the transition between our existing owner to you as our new owner!
