The village of Wangford just off the A12 is a surprisingly quiet and peaceful village with friendly local people. It is popular with holidaymakers looking to be based near to Southwold but away from the hustle and bustle. It offers good links to surrounding must-see places such as Dunwich, Kessingland and Blythburgh.
The village consists of a small park, two village pubs called The Angel Inn and The Plough, both of which serve food daily, a shop and farm shop, a veterinary surgery, and a doctor’s surgery and the parish Church.
Wangford is a good choice for those looking to do lots of walking and cycling. If you fancy a hike to Reydon Woods you’ll find the perfect country lane to take you there whilst passing the intriguing Oast House, a converted maltings, which has retained many original features. The open countryside along this route is breathtakingly beautiful and perfect for an energised dog walk.
The Farm Shop at Wangford has been serving the village as well as surrounding locations for over forty years. They stock every locally sourced convenience as well as all the home grown goods you could possibly imagine. They also have single storey holiday cottages called Hillside Farm Barns in the same location which can booked through the Suffolk Secrets website - The Cartlodge, The Stables, The Tack Room and The Workshop.
You will certainly feel relaxed and surrounded by beautiful countryside should you choose a holiday in Wangford. We have a handful of Wangford holiday cottages ranging from fisherman’s cottages to barn conversions that are all available to book through the Suffolk Secrets website.
