Five Great Reasons to visit Suffolk this September
Published: Tuesday 5th Jul 2016
September is a fabulous time of year to visit Suffolk and explore the hidden delights our beautiful county offers and we’ve put together five great reasons below:
1) Miss the Hustle and Bustle
With the influx of visitors to the county in the summer season it can sometimes be difficult to get to visit everywhere on your hit list with the car parks filling up and the busy high streets – Suffolk is quieter in September which allows you to enjoy all areas at your leisure.
2) September Events
September is a key month for annual festivals and events taking place across the county. Some of our favourites not to be missed include the Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival (24th and 25th September 2016), The Grand Henham Steam Rally (17th and 18th September 2016) and ‘Woofbridge’ Bark in the Park (3rd September 2016). You can see more events taking place in September by visiting our Events Calendar.
3) The Weather is Still Warm
In September 2015 we had some glorious days of weather which made days out about with loved ones all the more enjoyable so don’t discard the buckets and spades, bring them along for when the sun comes out to play!
4) An Array of Attractions
Some of our best loved attractions in Suffolk still open their doors to visitors ensuring you don’t miss out! Our favourites include Framlingham Castle which is open until 30th October 2016, Southwold Lighthouse runs weekend tours throughout September – climb all the way to the top for the best view of the coastline and don’t forget to visit Snape Maltings where there is a range of eateries, shops, galleries as well as concerts for music lovers. There are so many wonderful attractions in Suffolk, you can see more of our recommended places to see here.
