It’s been a great start to the summer season with the warm weather we’ve been having and we certainly look forward to welcoming our guests and visitors to Suffolk over the coming weeks.

Silly Eric Summer Day CampDates: 15th, 16th, 17th & 19th AugustWhere: SouthwoldGreat For: Children aged between 2 and 15 years old.About the event: Created by local childrens author Gracie Wright, the Silly Eric Summer Day Camp is perfect to keep the little ones busy during their holiday. Activities include dance, drama, football, writing workshops, music and treasure hunts. FolkEastDates: 19th – 21st AugustWhere: Glemham Hall GroundsGreat For: Music lovers and familiesAbout the event: FolkEast returns to Suffolk again this summer with a huge line-up of acts and plenty on site to keep you busy. Not only is there live music guests can also sample great local produce and ales, take part in dance, art and poetry workshops as well as plenty of activities for the little ones. Thorpeness Regatta and FireworksDates: Friday 19th AugustWhere: Thorpeness MeareGreat For: AllAbout the event: The annual regatta at Thorpeness is back for 2016. Visit the magical village of Thorpeness and enjoy a host of stalls, an all-day barbecue, fireworks, live music and much more. Taking place around the Meare this is a great event for families and friends to enjoy together.

Westleton Barrel FairDates: 21st and 22nd AugustWhere: Westleton Village GreenGreat For: AllAbout the event: Westleton has played host to the annual barrel fair for more than 20 years. Taking place on the village green, competitors take part in a barrel race and there are a range of stalls, a raffle, children’s activities and live music throughout the day.  

Lavenham Carnival and Rare Breeds Motor Show 2016Dates: Sunday 28th AugustWhere: Lavenham Market PlaceGreat For: AllAbout the event: Celebrate the Rio Olympics in Lavenham with the Lavenham Carnival. There will be live performances from Samba dancers, workshops, stalls, fair rides, food stalls, sambra workshops and much more. All the family are welcome to this event and it kicks off from 12pm onwards.
