Winter Breaks and Cosy Pubs
Published: Monday 16th Jan 2017
There’s no doubt that winter has firmly settled in the county – but coming to visit our county during this time can be the most enjoyable.
Our bustling High Street shops are having some fantastic sales, our countryside Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are at their most invigorating and our pubs and restaurants are cosy places to relax and sample of Suffolk’s most famous culinary delights.
It’s these foodie havens which are including and recommending below as the most wonderful places to dine and relax during your winter break.
Westleton Crown, Westleton
Popular for its award winning menu with its laid back atmosphere, we simply love the Westleton Crown. Plenty of local ales are on offer and the crackle of the fire is divine after a busy day out. Situated close by to the RSPB Minsmere Reserve and with plenty of walks nearby, this pub is also pet-friendly – a winner all round.
The Sail Loft, Southwold
Located on Ferry Road in Southwold and only a stone’s throw from the beach, Southwold’s newest restaurant is great for families, couples and those who want to bring their pet along too! The Sail Loft serves breakfasts too! Who wouldn’t want to start their day off in this picturesque location?
The Anchor, Woodbridge
This lovely cosy pub is located on Quay Street directly opposite the train station – the perfect welcome from a busy day out and about! The Anchor dates back to the 18th century and is packed with old world charm and character – a special feature has to be its roaring fires and its friendly atmosphere. The Anchor pride themselves on being ‘the local’s local’.
The Mill Inn, Aldeburgh
Just a short stroll from the seafront in Aldeburgh is this wonderful Adnams pub perched on the corner of Market Place and opposite the Moot Hall. This pub has lots of kerb appeal with its leaded windows and inside is packed with traditional pub charm with its beams and character features. The perfect choice for a relaxing evening by the sea or simply after a brisk walk along the seafront to enjoy a refreshing Adnams ale.
