Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity for the kids (and big kids!) to show their Mother just how special she is. If you need some Southwold inspiration on how to treat your Mother this Mother’s Day, we’ve come up with some great options all easily accessible within Southwold town which are sure to make your Mother smile…
1) The Gift
Southwold certainly isn’t short of a range of shops to find your Mother a special Mother’s Day gift.Take a trip to the Adnams Cellar and Kitchen store and browse a great choice of wines and champagnes. The Adnams staff are always on hand for help and advice and they are happy to gift wrap your choice for you. There are many boutiques available in Southwold High Street perfect for finding garments of your choice, or simply opt for a gift voucher so she can choose her own! We highly suggest popping into Collen & Clare, Tilley & Grace and Jenvey. We also offer holiday vouchers to use on a luxury Southwold holiday cottage – the perfect option to give your Mother something to look forward to!
2) Lunch
There are plenty of places on hand for a special lunch for Mother’s Day. Dining at The Pier really is an incredible setting with amazing views over the coastline; alternatively a three course lunch is also available The Sail Loft along Ferry Road, a mere stone’s throw from The Dunes and the beach. For something a little more informal try popping over to The Harbour and enjoy some lovely fish and chips. Other places we recommend include The Crown and Coasters. Do remember to book in advance though as most restaurants to tend to get very busy!
3) Walks
After a lovely lunch why not take a walk around the town and really enjoy the many highlights Southwold has on offer? For a casual and scenic stroll you can leisurely walk up the promenade from The Pier. For something a little more energising and one of our favourites we recommend starting out from The Common and heading across to the Harbour, passing our office (the Old Water Tower!) and the golf club. Turn left when you reach the Harbour and continue along the Harbour into Ferry Road. Once at the end of Ferry Road head up Godyll Road and then back around to the Common. Along the way you’ll get to see the boats along the Harbour, quirky houses along Ferry Road, the sea beyond the Dunes and the glorious green of the Common. Perfect.
4) Pampering
For ultimate relaxation why not book some beauty treatments for your Mother to really enjoy Mother’s Day? The Sanctuary and The Retreat are fantastic places to try with treatments ranging from facials to manicures and massages, there are plenty to choose from.
