With Valentine's Day just around the corner, now is the time to think about how to treat the special person in your life. The Suffolk countryside is full of beautiful places to visit and the stunning scenery is sure to make romance blossom. 1. RSPB Minsmere

Indulge your senses with a peaceful stroll around the Minsmere nature reserve. Ideal for wildlife lovers, simply take time to admire the flora and fauna that you will come across and if you're there at dusk you will see some of the most breathtaking sights in the county including starling murmurations and much more. The ideal way to appreciate the small things in life and not far from the popular seaside town of Southwold.

2. Lavenham

This medieval wool town is one of a kind and steeped in history. With its array of stunning listed buildings, you can immerse yourselves in the history of this wool town and explore the medieval streets together then treat yourselves to a glorious Afternoon Tea at The Swan - why not try adding a glass of fizz as an extra treat? Or, if you prefer something a bit more relaxed then take it easy in the Weaver's House Spa with a couple's massage.

3. Bury St Edmunds

This historical town's cobbled streets are full of independent shops, award-winning restaurants, cafes and historical landmarks. The perfect treat for the shopaholic in your life! Start off with a stroll through the town with a bit of retail therapy, followed by a meal in one of the many eateries and if you fancy a bit of culture why not the visit the St Edmundsbury Cathedral and Abbey Gardens for a romantic stroll through the flower filled grounds.

4. Ramsholt

With uninterrupted views of the river Deben from all angles, you won't find a better view of the river! Under 10 miles from Woodbridge, it's well worth the distance as the sunset view from the Ramsholt Arms is unforgettable, whether you come here just for the scenery or to enjoy a bite to eat, this is an utterly pictoresque part of the county. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the local wildlife including seals and a variety of bird life.

5. Flatford

Otherwise known as Constable Country, this area is home to part of the Dedham Vale and Stour Valley Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) and is the birth place of famous painter John Constable and also the location of his most famous works. Treat the art lover in your life to a walk along the river stour at Flatford which is the place in Constable's most famous painting The Hay Wain. The white cottage in the background of the painting is still there, now known as Flatford Mill.
