Felixstowe Book Festival has become one of the highlights of the East Anglian Arts Calendar and returns with another exciting programme of events from 27 June to 1 July 2018.
The Festival opens on Wednesday 27th June when best selling novelists Amanda Craig and Salley Vickers will be talking about their latest books in the beautiful Palm Courtroom at Harvest House.
Then, in the following days, at the main festival venue The Orwell Hotel and at new venues including beach huts, a shipping container, Felixstowe Museum and the Seafront Gardens, there will be over 50 book related events covering fiction, politics, history, landscape, the shipping container trade, art, the hippy trail, poetry, storytelling in the woods, music film and workshops.
Authors making welcome return visits include Esther Freud (our Festival patron) and Louis De Bernières. Other festival highlights include the best selling crime writer Mark Billingham, Lib Dem Leader Sir Vince Cable, Radio 4 Women’s Hour presenter Dame Jenni Murray, historical fiction writers Simon Scarrow and Elizabeth Chadwick and the actors Michael Pennington, Timothy Bentinck (‘David Archer’), Stephen McGann, (Call the Midwife).
