Owners of Akenfield Cottage have written us a blog post about what it's like to be a Suffolk Cottage Holidays owner:

Ruth and I opened Akenfield Cottage as a holiday let in November 2013.

We built Akenfield Cottage in 2011 on the footprint of an old redundant battery hen house which had become dilapidated. We live in a lovely cottage with small windows, which can be quite dark, and we wanted a building in our garden which was light and airy so we pulled down the battery shed and built a glass fronted, ’cart shed’ style replacement.

Image removed. We thought that it would make a perfect holiday cottage and it was transformed in the autumn of 2013 into the accommodation we have today. Our first booking was for the Christmas period that year and was to be our first experience of providing self catering holiday accommodation. It was a very successful and we received excellent feedback from our first guests.

We have been very happy to have worked with Suffolk Cottage Holidays from the outset. We were impressed by both the enthusiasm and professionalism shown by the Suffolk Cottage Holidays team. They have provided invaluable advice and their experience in letting property in Suffolk has helped us to develop our business. Their friendly team are on hand to assist both us and our visitors to ensure that the very best accommodation and customer service is offered. It is essential that what is advertised is delivered and we have received lots of positive feedback from satisfied guests who have confirmed that our accommodation has measured up to the details provided on our web page with Suffolk Cottage Holidays.

We go out of our way to ensure that our guests have a great time whilst using Akenfield Cottage. It gives us enormous pleasure to meet so many guests from all over the UK and some from oversees as far away as Singapore and Tasmania.

This wonderful summer has meant that our guests have been able to enjoy glorious weather using Akenfield cottage as a base from which to enjoy our beautiful county, or to simply relax in the secluded garden alongside the River Deben where we have recently installed new riverside decking.
