1. Aldeburgh Fish & Chip Shop
It’s not a proper trip to the beautiful British coastline without a proper fish and chips! First opened in 1967 and family-run ever since, Aldeburgh Fish & Chips has been featured in Tatler, The Sunday Times and The Telegraph as one of the best restaurants around.
With three locations across the town, Aldeburgh’s Fish & Chips serves freshly-caught fish and delicious chips with the same methods they used when the restaurant was established. A must visit!
2. Cragg Sisters Tea Room
Started in 1949, the recently renovated Cragg Sisters Tea Room is famous for their love of all things tea. Offering homemade cakes, pastries, soups, salad and sandwiches, the tearoom is best known for its abundant afternoon teas.
The owners pride themselves on using local produce and even make cakes to order and cater events. It’s the perfect place to stop for a mid-afternoon snack after a long walk on Aldeburgh’s extensive beaches. The tearoom is also the location of the Aldeburgh Supper Club, run by chef extraordinaire, Mike Keen.
3. Sea Spice
Located in the White Lion Hotel on the seafront the Sea Spice is renowned for being the best Indian for miles. Combining local Suffolk produce with Indian flavours the food is exceptional.
Offering a range of menu items including set menus from £25 per person and a bespoke children’s menu for £8 it is great for all the family.
Even the specialist beers available have been chosen to complement the menu.
4. Delphine’s Diner
Classic American dining takes itself to the Suffolk coast with this ’50s and ’60s inspired Delphine’s Diner restaurant in the heart of Aldeburgh. Take a seat in one of the classic crimson red booths and order something comforting and delicious from this quirky little diner.

5. The Regatta
Situated in the heart of Aldeburgh high street, The Regatta is a dining treat. An independent restaurant, it has been run for 26 years by Robert and Johanna Mabey.
The menu is full of seasonal dishes using local produce and caters well for gluten free diners.
