Framlingham Holiday Cottages

Situated in the heart of rural Suffolk, our Framlingham holiday cottages are a good central base from which to explore this thriving part of Suffolk. The historical market town is dominated by the Castle of Framlingham, along with many shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The award winning Shawsgate Vineyard, the Easton Farm Park, Bruisyard and Helmingham Halls are all nearby attractions to visit. Book one of our Framlingham cottages and enjoy a getaway in this historic market town.

Often referred to as 'Fram', Framlingham was once voted one of the most desirable places to live by Country Life magazine. The castle lies just beyond the Church on top of a hill. Seasonally there are guided tours around the castle and many events aimed at children during the school holidays.

Just beneath the castle is Framlingham Mere, a thirty three acre lake which was formerly much deeper than the present day. Framlingham College own the Mere but it is currently leased to the Suffolk Wildlife Trust as a nature reserve for birds and water plants.

The popular seaside town of Aldeburgh is only fifteen miles away from Framlingham and offers all you could need for a traditional day out by the sea. The mainly pebble beach offers huge appeal to tourists and locals alike and you will often see holidaymakers braving the water at all times of year. The High Street has many independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants providing all you could need whilst on holiday.

Less than fifteen miles from Framlingham is one of Suffolk’s Foodie hotspots - the charming fishing village of Orford. Here there are many places to get your taste buds tingling including Pinney’s Smoke house and Pump Street Bakery. Rich in history, why not pay a visit to Orford Castle and enjoy the panoramic views across Orford Ness.

Also less than twelve miles from Framlingham is the beautiful market town of Woodbridge. This bustling town sits on the banks of the River Deben and is a great day out with plenty to see and do. The town centre has many different shops offering some great retail therapy. Woodbridge also has an abundance of pubs, cafes and restaurants so you're sure to find something that will take your fancy. Why not work up an appetite with a walk along the banks of the Deben and enjoy watching the boats coming and going.
