Aldeburgh Carnival
Dating as far back as the 1800’s, the Aldeburgh Carnival routes stem from what was originally the ‘Ye Old Marine Regatta’. In 1927, the carnival was added to the regatta, led by father Neptune and his trusty entourage. Now in its 76th year, the carnival is a wonderful legacy of what the regatta once was. The 2020 dates for the carnival are 15th, 16th and 17th August 2020.
Celebrating English tradition, Aldeburgh Carnival offers not only its original carnival procession but also Punch and Judy shows, fireworks, a 10k run, a variety of games and races and an impressive selection of local food and drinks. Be sure not to miss the very exciting RNLI and HM Coastguard air and sea rescue displays. Military and samba bands will be treating carnival goers with live music and children's rides will be sure to keep all ages entertained. Once the sun has set on the final evening, the charming lantern procession will bring a delightful close to the three days along with an impressive firework display. Suffolk Secrets are proud to sponsor such a wonderful event and offer a collection of beautiful self-catering holiday cottages in Aldeburgh and its surrounding areas.
