They have also has won many awards, including ITV’s ‘Britain’s Best Bakery’!Orford’s Pump Street Bakery is also a fantastic family own business in the Woodbridge area. They pride themselves in offering outstanding quality bread and pastries. Their baked goods are showcased in their café, where you can enjoy an artisanal cup of coffee and a delicious pastry of your choice, before you explore the charming little town of Orford.If you prefer to relax in your holiday cottage for an evening or two and want to grab a few ingredients to cook up a storm, you could perhaps visit Creasey’s family butchers. They produce their own sausages, cured bacon, hams and seasonal meats such a pheasant. They also have a popular deli section offering pies, cheeses and eggs. There are also grocers and fishmongers in the town if meat is not your favourite centrepiece. Woodbridge’s Farmers’ Market is a must visit and is held in the Woodbridge Community Hall on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, there you will find a vast array of local, organic produce. From honey to flowers and cakes to vegetables, they are passionate about supporting local farmers, communities and benefiting the local environment (less ‘food miles’ mean more flavoursome fresh foodstuffs).

In the heart of Woodbridge, the Wild Strawberry Café is a popular independent coffee shop in a prominent position overlooking Market Hill. A night inn
Ye Old Bell and Steelyard on New Street in Woodbridge is the oldest pub in the town and claims to date back all the way to the reign of Henry VIII. It specialises in lovely homemade food, real ales and Suffolk ciders. This inn has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere and features photos and artefacts from its long history, giving it a truly individual feel.Just outside of Woodbridge lies The Cherry Tree, an enchanting inn with open fires, wooden beams and sloping ceilings. It’s a totally atmospheric pub with a wide selection of local ales who offer delicious traditional pub food. Here there is also a children’s play area in the lovely, sheltered garden so it’s great for all the family! As mentioned earlier, the Maybush Inn, perched on the banks of the Deben, is a great place to visit after a long walk out in the Suffolk countryside. It offers panoramic views across the river with excellent, fresh, local food.
